"Someday, You're Going To Die" is a transcribed conversation between Bryan Samuel and two owners of Olson Kundig, Alan Maskin and Blair Payson regarding the design of the Recompose Headquarters. The article was published by Vorkurs: Rituals, a publication from the University of Florida's Graduate School of Architecture.
Recompose Headquarters is the first human composting center in the United States. The process of Natural Organic Reduction, or human composting, requires 1/8th the energy of traditional funerary processes like burial and cremation. Katrina Spade is the founder of Recompose, and Marlene Bailey served as the project manager on the client's side. For more information, please visit Recompose.life. The project was featured Dezeen.
This project was completed while employed at Olson Kundig in 2022. Bryan Samuel served as the Project Architect. Finish photography by Austin Wilson.
